Manager of Soft Skills & Toastmasters
Overview: The Manager of Soft Skills & Toastmasters is a leadership role in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association, reporting to the Senior Manager of Skills Development. This role is responsible for interacting with Lockheed Martin executives to obtain sponsors for Soft Skills events, facilitating Soft Skills events, and selecting topics that will foster the professional development of event attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a soft skill aptitude assessment and develop a plan based on the results
- Create an environment where members can make consistent investments into their future
- Develop relationships withing Aero that foster a positive brand image among members and executives
- Create and maintain relationships with LM Aero executives who are interested in sponsoring and leading events
- Work with the organization to align events to LMLA needs, and address feedback received
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly passionate about leadership and personal development
- Able to hold peers accountable in a constructive manner
- Results-driven, even if that means having difficult conversations to realign performance
- Well-organized, resourceful, and efficient, with the ability to see opportunities and devise solutions
Time Commitment
- Average 5 hours per week, with increased hours during program planning and execution
- Attend regular meetings with the Senior Manager of Essential Skills to discuss event planning and progress
- Participate in event setup, execution, and evaluation as needed
Reporting Structure
The Manager of Soft Skills & Toastmasters will report to the Senior Manager of Essential Skills and will work closely with other LMLA leaders to develop and execute program initiatives.

The Manager of Soft Skills & Toastmasters will have access to support and resources from the Senior Manager of Essential Skills, including guidance on event planning and execution, as well as access to budget and resources to support program initiatives.
