Senior Manager of Essential Skills 


Overview: The Senior Manager of Essential Skills is a leadership role in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association, reporting to the Director of Professional Development. This role supports the Program Management Leadership Team and is responsible for planning and executing classes that educate members on Soft Skills and Technical skills to help advance their careers. 

Key Responsibilities 


  • Create an environment where members can make consistent investments into their future 
  • Develop relationships withing Aero that foster a positive brand image among members and executives 
  • Enhance and create LMLA’s courses in Soft and Technical Skills 
  • Ensure that the skills courses offered through LMLA exceed standards with respect to quality, cost, and schedule 
  • Create the necessary processes to drive successful delivery of courses to members, enhancing their self-awareness and leadership skills 

Requirements 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Highly passionate about leadership and personal development 
  • Able to hold peers accountable in a constructive manner 
  • Blended leadership style that trains and guides Managers 
  • Results-driven, even if that means having difficult conversations to realign performance 
  • Experience with EVMS is a plus 

Time Commitment 


  • Average 8 hours per week, with increased hours during program planning and execution 
  • Attend regular meetings with the Director of Professional Development and other LMLA leaders to discuss program planning and progress 
  • Participate in program setup, execution, and evaluation as needed 

Reporting Structure  

The Senior Manager of Essential Skills will report to the Director of Professional Development and will work closely with other LMLA leaders to develop and execute program initiatives.  


Support and Resources  

The Senior Manager of Essential Skills will have access to support and resources from the Director of Professional Development, including guidance on program planning and execution, as well as access to budget and resources to support program initiatives.
