Project Management Professional (PMP)


The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification recognizes demonstrated knowledge and skill in leading and directing project teams and in delivering project results within the constraints of schedule, budget and resources. The Test Prep classes are designed to prepare you for the PMP exam, which consists of 200 questions.

PMP Requirements

The requirements to receive PMP certification are the following:
  • Four-year degree, three years of project management experience with 4500 hours leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of classroom training, OR
  • High school diploma, 5 years of project management experience with 7500 hours leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of classroom training.
  • Passing a four-hour exam.

Training Options

There are two methods for PMP training: LMLA-sponsored training and training offered to the general public. 


1. LMLA-sponsored training is provided to LMLA members at a discount, generally twice a year, using a third-party provider. Training is offered in-person or virtually. Check the LMLA news bulletin and website event calendar for opportunities. 


2. Publicly-offered training is provided periodically through various training companies such as:

Reimbursement

Lockheed Martin will reimburse PMI training and certification in accordance with CRX-551. See Tuition Assistance in LM People for more information.
